Since Swedes generally celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve many want to do something else today. Christmas Day is a big night for movie premieres and also a common party night.
Just enough snow to make a little snowman ⛄️
The weather gurus have said that we’re in for a green Christmas, so we better make the most of what little snow we have before it disappears…
At Sweden’s biggest amusement park Liseberg in Gothenburg there is a big Christmas fair in December every year.
This photo is taken at 3pm!!! A few weeks ago it would have been dark by then. It’s just getting lighter and lighter now… It is pretty cold though -5,8F ⛄️
Lucia is celebrated the 13th of December every year. She and her maids are bringing light to people in Sweden (although from the start she was an Italian Saint, from Sicily I believe).
Many take the chance to have some extra gingerbread cookies and lussekatter (saffron bread). 😊
This year Lucia is on the same day as the third of advent 🕯🕯🕯
